Description: Effective lesson plans are important to successful instruction, student learning, and classroom management. Unfortunately, some lesson plans miss the mark. Education 4 All works individually with teachers to help them apply the basics of lesson planning and then go even deeper toward understanding how to adequately select Grade Level Expectations (GLEs) within the realm of required curriculum based on students’ needs. Teachers will also gain a better understanding of how to interject creativity, personality, and reflection into their lessons to enhance student learning outcomes.
       
Audience: This workshop is ideal for teachers who are experiencing difficulty with lesson planning or who simply want additional advice and support with regard to lesson design.

  • “Fall in love with a Good Book” Book Swap & Book Drive
   
The Community is asked to participate in our book swap and book drive. This is the perfect opportunity to trade in your “like new” books for other “like new” books! Any books that you are not able to trade may be left on our donation table to be donated to a local shelter. You may also drop off books to donate to a local shelter. Independent and local authors will be available for the purchase of new books.

Goals:

1. Promote literacy
2. Encourage books as gifts for individuals and local organizations
3. Introduce Independent and Local Authors to the Community

  • Author's Showcase and Book Fair
 
This event allows independent and local authors to speak about their experiences as a writer as well as to provide a brief overview of their book(s). Attendees engage in a Q & A session with authors during the general forum as well as during their visit to each author table. All books will be autographed at the time of purchase.

Goals:

1. Promote literacy
2. Introduce community members to the art of writing and publishing
3. Introduce independent and local authors to the community

  • Back-to-School Parent Involvement Luncheon
 
This event features a guest speaker, break out sessions, and a panel discussion. Speakers are experts in their field and have a wealth of knowledge to provide parents with regard to the education of their children, ages 0-19. Parents will also have the opportunity to ask questions of each presenter as well as visit vendor booths to purchase items that are specific to parenting, children, and education.

1. Connect parents to educational resources
2. Answer parents’ questions related to education
3. Assist parents in educating their children
